The album's title, 'HIBA,' is derived from Matt's wife's name, signifying 'gift from God' in Arabic.

In 2017, Matt Mardini met Rob Heaney at Studio Fast Forward in Montreal. Rob, the sound engineer for the project, mixed the final work. A deep friendship grew, and Matt learned significantly from Rob. This album marks Matt's first Canadian record, dedicated in memory of the great man, Rob.
